He didn't have time to jump. Suddenly a heart monitor sound was playing loud overhead. The crowd roared to a stir. Seven bleeps later it stopped and a buzzer sounded.

“WINNER BY FATALITY, Lady K Pirate!” said the announcer. Suddenly the rain stopped and the paramedics ran in down the reappearing ramp. They ran over to the mangled bike wreckage and gore. One took out a small device and a pin lazer swept back and forth eracing the 3D solid space of the bike wreckage. Underneath was Wendle, his body in pieces. Fortunately his head was all entact. Revival is slower and a bit more iffy when there is head trauma. The medic with the control device made a glowing slot open up in the street. The other two medics used large squeegees to scrape Wendle’s remains into a tube chamber filled with blue goo. The tube sealed shut and shot off under the stadium under rapidly fading streets to the big gray open blank arena.

“How long is he gonna be in pieces?” I asked.

“Hour, mabey two. He wasn't dead 90 seconds yet and this should be a reassemble not a regrow restore.” Said the medic with the control. As we started walking out to a roaring crowd, I could see the city cycling thru and getting ready for its next fight. My right arm was almost completely better now according to the heads up, but the power for the Jack Suit was down to 27%. There was time for rum, which was good because it was time for rum. My mom would so not approve of tonight's excursions.

There were two real takeaways from all this; One and probably most important a jolt of Torrean gravity would turn me into a real badass. At some point I gotta find out just how strong I get and exactly how long it lasts. I was back upstairs in the club for a good little while before my hair stopped floating like it was in a perpetual gentle breeze. Evidently the change my body goes thru to survive in Torrean gravity included my hair which must not have gotten denser and stronger like most of my body, but more so gravity resistant. I had never seen this before. I assume that's because usually leaving Torrean gravity involves a ship leaving orbit and not an on off switch from the Gravity Bender. The second thing was I DO NOT LIKE DESLARIAN RICKLE FISH or maybe some seasoning they used on it, or maybe it does not go well with rum, but every last bit of that came back up while I was waiting for Wendle to get restored. The fish was free for winning the match downstairs. Maybe it was bad or something, but my body adapted for super gravity, deadly cold freezing sea water, but it just upchucked Rickle Fish. For the next hour I belched some combination of rum and Rickle fish, ahhh.

Finally the elevator from the medical center opened up and out walked Wendle.
